Volunteer Programs

Introduction

Conservation projects are designed to broaden awareness of environmental issues worldwide and to introduce people to the challenges of balancing human needs with the need to conserve biological diversity. The Volunteer Programs in China provide a framework for people from various backgrounds to address topics in conservation and sustainable resource management through supervised field experiences in habitat restoration, public education, data collection, scientific research and endangered species preservation such as the giant panda in Sichuan Province.

GIANT PANDA PROGRAM
The giant panda is one of the most critically endangered species in the world. It is estimated that there are fewer than 1,600 remaining in the world. Most of them reside in China's Sichuan and Shanxi provinces.
Volunteers in this program will have the rare opportunity to work at the China Conservation and Research Center for the giant panda located in the Bifengxia Panda Research Center.
